DOT physical exam in Fresno, CA
A DOT physical is the medical examination the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requires for commercial drivers, including truck drivers, bus drivers and other Class A and B license holders. It confirms you are physically and mentally fit to operate a commercial vehicle safely, and it results in a medical examiner's certificate, usually valid for up to two years.

Drivers of vehicles over 10,001 pounds in interstate commerce, vehicles carrying hazardous materials, and vehicles carrying more than eight passengers for compensation all need a current medical card. Bring your driver's license, your glasses or contacts, a list of your medications and doses, and any letters from your treating providers about controlled conditions. Yes. Drivers with diet- or pill-controlled diabetes are generally certified as usual, and drivers who use insulin can be certified under the FMCSA insulin-treated diabetes rules with documentation from their treating provider. As an endocrine clinic we help drivers get that paperwork right.
Up to 24 months for drivers without qualifying conditions. Conditions such as high blood pressure or insulin-treated diabetes may shorten the certificate to one year or less, with recheck requirements.
Below 140/90 for a full two-year certificate. Higher readings can still be certified for shorter periods while blood pressure is brought under control, and we can help with that treatment.
