GOOD TO KNOW

Questions About Your Visit

What the first appointment looks like and how we follow up.

What happens at the first appointment?

We take a thorough history, review your medications, labs and any imaging, examine you, and order the right tests if they have not already been done. You leave with an explanation of what we think is happening and a written plan, even if some labs are still pending.

How long is a new patient visit?

Plan on about 45 to 60 minutes. Follow-up visits are usually 20 to 30 minutes. We would rather take the time up front than rush a plan that affects your health for years.

Will I get my lab results and how?

Yes. Results are reviewed by your provider and shared with you with an explanation of what they mean and what, if anything, changes in the plan.

What if my condition changes between visits?

Call us. Diabetes, thyroid and hormone treatment often needs adjusting between scheduled visits, and we would rather hear from you early than find out at the next appointment.
